The Hampton Inn and Suites by Hilton Hood River won Mereté Hotel Management’s (formerly InnSight) “We are Community” Hotel of the Year Award at the company annual conference held in Springfield, OR.

The Hood River hotel won the award during Mereté Hotel Management’s Annual Company Meeting and Awards Dinner.

The property’s leadership team accepted the award from President Richard Boyles and from the company’s Executive Team. “We are extremely proud of the associates at the Hampton Inn Hood River, and their contributions to their local community,” reflected Mr. Boyles after the awards ceremony. “From their involvement with their local Chamber to volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters, the associates at the Hampton Inn truly reflect Mereté’s commitment to communities where our hotels do business.”

The hotel was selected for the award for contributing to the Hood River community, for creating a community within their hotel, and for assisting Mereté with opening of the new Hampton Inn in Roseburg, OR. Their team spirit starts on a new hire’s first day. The associate is welcomed with “Hamptonality” and featured on the property’s Facebook page.

General Manager Tim Pyle and the hotel’s leadership supports their team with fun morning huddles, activities, and their famous costumes. The team was incredibly helpful and supportive in the opening of the Hampton Inn and Suites in Roseburg, lending team members and managers a hand before and after opening. They are a supporter of their local community and have already been recognized by the Chamber as a leader.

“The team as a whole is very active in the community,” said Pyle. “It is who we are, I have that spirit and my team has that spirit. It is usually an individual that wins this award, but this time it was the entire team.”
This December they hosted a Chamber event with a Frozen theme where, true to form, they dressed up. Anna, Elsa and Olaf were all on hand to mingle with local business attendees and make snow globes. They are very active on social media, often partnering with new businesses to boost support for their local business partners.

“Tim Pyle is a great example of what we value as a company – taking care of our guests, our employees and owners. Our company culture supports community involvement and Tim has embraced this both by giving of his own time and getting the hotel staff involved. It is people like Tim that truly embody the spirit of hospitality,” said Liz Dahlager, who is the vice president of sales.

The team is a huge supporter of Big Brothers Big Sisters, especially at the annual fundraising event Buddy Bowl during which they always dress up to entertain their little brothers and sisters.

“This is the 3rd year our team has participated in the Buddy Bowl,” said Pyle.

Every January, Mereté Hotel Management brings together the management teams from all its properties and the corporate staff from its Springfield, OR headquarters, for an annual leadership conference. This year’s conference included a celebration of the company’s 25-year history and was used as an opportunity to reveal a new name and logo to company associates – Mereté Hotel Management. Attendees from the Hampton Inn participated in a community service project with Friends of Trees in Eugene, OR, during the conference. Associates pulled weeds and laid mulch around native tree pods previously planted by Friends of Trees on the east embankment of Interstate 105 in Eugene’s Whiteaker neighborhood. Over sixty volunteer hours were logged, supporting Mereté’s commitment to the community where it does business.
