Connecting Communities Throughout the Columbia River Gorge
“It is our hope that The Gorge Business News will foster a sense of community throughout the Gorge, bringing chambers, businesses and citizens together with a common bond, our love of the Columbia River Gorge region,” said owner Rick Roach. “It will be a good tool for businesses to get some exposure for their products or services and for new businesses to announce their arrival.”
8,000 free, full-color copies of The Gorge Business News are distributed at various hotels, restaurants, stores and businesses throughout the Columbia River Gorge region from Camas to Lyle in Washington and from Troutdale to The Dalles in Oregon bi-monthly.
“It means a lot to me to be able to publish The Gorge Business News,” said owner Lori Roach. “I am excited to be in the region, interviewing fascinating people and helping businesses promote their products and services. It’s an exciting time in the Gorge, tourism is booming and new businesses are coming to the area and existing businesses are growing. We are looking forward to doing our part in helping nudge the economic dial of the region in a positive direction.”
All articles are available on The Gorge Business News website, which also has a link to the digital version of the newspaper. Both print and digital versions of TGBN are available for free.
“Helping businesses succeed is our main objective, so we are offering some free “value-added” opportunities for our advertisers,” said Lori. “Loyalty discounts, discounts on web advertising, the opportunity to place press releases in the print edition and on the TGBN website are some of the extras we will include. We will also be active on social media promoting not only the paper itself, but also our advertisers. One of the value-added opportunities we are most excited about is coming to our advertiser’s place of business and recording video interviews that will be posted on social media. This will give our clients a great opportunity to showcase their business online and let their customers get to know the person behind the business. We will also have a YouTube Channel so Rick and I can share all of our adventures with our followers.”
“The Gorge Business News is more than just words on paper,” said Rick, “it is a catalyst for conversations, innovation, economic development, tourism, volunteerism and advocacy. It also promotes community involvement and Lori and I are looking forward to helping out where we can with the different great events and programs throughout the region.”
